-
- Well, of course there is, or should be. But there seem to be a lot of
- insecure kids with IBMs who periodically pop into the newsgroup, announce,
- "Amiga sux! Pentium rulez!" and a lot of Amiga people pounce on them as a
- reflex and take the arguments apart. (I know I responded to this one,
- which seemed more than usually rude.)
-
- Of course, if a kid wanted a real argument in the first place, he'd have
- posted something more enlightened, and is probably sitting back and
- laughing over the havoc he's wrought.
-
- My point (knew I'd get to it): This discussions may be satisfying in some
- sense, but ultimately, they're pointless, as we are preaching to the
- converted and the unconvertable. I suspect that if we just leave these
- things alone, they'll go away. It's an old childhood rule: The last thing
- you're supposed to do is let the bully who's teasing you know that he's
- gotten to you.
